We shared a pepperoni slice ($4.25) they’re all around that price mark depending on the toppings. Within minutes you’ll be awarded with a hot piece of ‘za. Once ordered, you’ll be able to watch as they grab your order and toss it right into the large ovens behind them. You work your way into the line where you’ll see the great display of wheels all for your choosing. Like a basic takeout pizza spot, you have a few window bar seats with some tables along the wall. Like the sheeple we are, we chose the spot that had the biggest crowd. On a quick evening adventure out by Hollywood, we decided on parking and walking down the strip to see what goodies we’d be able to find. We would definitely recommend this spot to any ramen lovers or Hollywood Boulevard tourists looking for a quick lunch spot. Jinya had impeccably fast and attentive service–the ramen was ready in less than 10 minutes. The ramen was well portioned, and the chunks of atsuage tofu within the soup were especially tasty and filling. The ramen was incredibly flavorful, delightfully garlic-y, and had a spicy kick. Additionally, we added ginger, garlic, and sesame seeds on top of the dish. We got a the spicy vegan dan dan men ramen, and paired the dish with a melograno & arancia Sanpellegrino beverage. Customers can opt to customize their own bowls with a vast variety of broths, toppings and noodle options or can order Jinya's specialties. Upon ordering, my friendly server politely informed me of any cross-contamination possibilities to accustom my dietary preferences. Jinya also features several vegan and vegetarian options. With a variety of Japanese rice bowls, ramen, and salads, customers of Jinya are met with a pleasantly varied selection. shhh, it's a secret recipe.Jinya Ramen's lofty view above Hollywood Boulevard is only a precursor to the delicious food thats awaits customers inside. We went in for gold and won! Just don't forget the garlic paste. It was rich and fatty so we could only take bites but wow, was it tasty!Īll in all, I love both their beef and chicken but the beef is the winner when you are in need of that extra Iron boost! Round number two! This time we went in together on their tri-tip wrap. My boyfriend wanted to share his work with me so we were taking our time enjoying the food and looking at real estate when he suddenly got hungry again. The meat was slowly roasting behind the counter marinating in its own juices and making my mouth water. It didn't come on our plate so I privately asked the server for some. We asked for Tabbouleh in place of the rice and most importantly could not be without their famed secret recipe garlic sauce. We ordered their beef shish kabob platter that came with Shirazi salad and hummus. The Mediterranean grill was fast, healthy and full of flavor. He threw out a few suggestions and without hesitation, I jumped on Zankou. As it was not typical for me to make such a direct declaration he knew I meant business. Happy and hungry I looked over to my boyfriend announcing it was time to eat. Once again, I had a ringtone and that was a reason to celebrate. Zankou might have once been good but no longer.Īfter a day walking around doing chores, my boyfriend picked me up from the Westfield Century City mall excited to have the team at Apple resolve the sound issue with my iPhone. Taste what this food should really be from people who care. This place made its rep as a western/white person friendly mid east restaurant. Next I also had a shawarma wrap which had NO veggies inside (unlike the photos) with a few turnips thrown in a nastly little plastic wrap. One saving grace was that the DARK meat was not dry. The owners should compare those old photos from when they first opened to whatever their place has become. Larry David can't save this chain from sinking into the ground. Oh and where were the forks and knives and napkins in my to-go order. Like a scoop of humus, 2 hot peppers, and some watered down turnips and tomatoes! Where is that beautiful grilled tomato from their photos? I certainly didn't see it. Then they gave NO garlic sauce which I assume comes with this massive plate of nothing. About 8 bucks for this? /biz_photos/lAmp… Look at the pic I provided of the 1/4 chicken dinner. I spent almost 20 bucks for dinner (just for me) and I could go out and eat all over again.įirst, the portion was ridiculously small. Like so much of LA, it starts off great and dives into the cement - head first.
